How to know if you're a Christian
Saying you are a Christian is very easy to say, which can be observed in today’s society. You have a large part of the population saying they are Christian. My question is, why do we have such moral decay in society today? To see what constitutes being a Christian we must go to the source of Christianity, the bible.
First, we must define the term Christian. The answers can vary from the typical, “I was brought up in church”, to the one that is a favorite, “I am a good person, and I don’t do wrong to others so God will not send me to hell.” However, do these make you a Christian? No. A Christian is someone who has had their sins covered by the blood of Jesus Christ who died on a cross, as stated in the book of John 19:17-18, “And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.”  To further understand the death of Christ and what it means we look at 1John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

Now some make ask, well how do we know that his death is really for us today? To see the validity of His death we turn to the Old Testament. Here you will find the many prophecies regarding the Messiah, Jesus Christ. This is a short list from the book of Isaiah Isa: 50:6: "I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.Isa: 50:7: For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed."
Isa:53:3: He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.Isa:53:5: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.Isa:53:6: All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.Isa:53:7: He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb,
