There are tons of great restaurants in West Knoxville and quite a lot of them are very reasonably priced. Of course, a lot of it has to do with what you order. Obviously, you can get vegetable, pasta, or chicken dishes for less money than you can for prime rib, lobster, or specialty dishes just about anywhere you go. Also, some restaurants will have "early bird" specials, meaning that if you dine before a certain time, usually 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. then you can get cheaper prices. Of course there are other ways to get a good deal and that's by using coupons. If you live in the Knoxville area, then I highly recommend that you purchase a school coupon book or two. These books are sold in all Knox County Schools for $10 each and they contain lots of coupons that can save you big money at local restaurants and retailers.
1. Shono's Japanese Grill - Located at 120 S Peters Rd (behind the Kingston Pike Walgreen's) 865-769-9699 - Shono's is by far one of my favorite affordable restaurants in West Knoxville. They've been around for quite a few years and their food quality and service are very consistent. They offer a variety of vegetable, tofu, chicken, beef, and seafood dishes that are prepared hibachi style. Their dinner entrees are served with your choice of a salad or soup and steamed or fried rice. Vegetable, chicken, tofu, and shrimp entrees are from about $5.99 to $7.50 each which is quite the bargain considering the freshness and quality. Their beef and combo entrees are a little more, but still very affordable.
2. Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet - Located at 9645 Kingston Pike, 865-357-2316. This is one of the newest restaurants in Knoxville and is located near Pellissippi Pkwy and Kingston Pike. Lunch buffet prices are around $6.25 and dinner around $8.99. They have quite a lot to select from on their buffet and the food was pretty good. I'm a big sushi fan and their selection of sushi items on the buffet was better than I've had at most other buffet style restaurants. They serve many of the traditional style Chinese and Japanese dishes such as general tso's chicken, fried rice, seafood medleys, noodle dishes, Mongolian Beef, peel and eat shrimp, and a lot more. They also have a hibachi grill where you select from a variety of raw food items and have the cook prepare them for you while you wait.
3. Meksiko Cantina - Located at 120 West End Ave
