Meet The Parents' Makes for Mega-Family Fun

Paranoid dad, Jack, (played by Robert DeNiro) is about to lock horns with his daughter Pam's boyfriend, Greg Focker (played by Teri Pollo and Ben Stiller, respectively). And what transpires is nothing short of hilarious. There are polygraph tests, background checks, goofy graces, and cats that create catastrophe. Through it all, the lines are funny and the comedic timing is perfect. The cast is well constructed, with even the minor characters making a significant contribution to the film. Owen Wilson is oh-so-right for the part of Pam's ex-boyfriend, and even the ticket agent (played by Amy Hohn) had her shining moment.

My two complaints? The camera work seemed a bit awkward and choppy at times, particularly during the conversation scenes. And the bonus features? Skip them if you want the movie's humor to stick with you. Frankly, the extra outtakes (I presume added to add extra humor) made the cast members look like buffoons and were too long. By the time they were over, I had forgotten how funny the movie actually was. Nonetheless, this movie is a comedic must-have for anyone getting ready to "Meet the Parents."
