Poetry: Man to man

by John G Evans

Created on: October 13, 2010

Erroneous days embrace their sleepless nights,

Impetuous thirst, macho, masculine frame,

Act of aggression, poetic senses articulate,

Listen wisely, lest there be a knock on the door;

Destruction, so much devastation,

Refined to a powdery, contemplative dust form,

Forty years a forgotten man,

Yet not,

Militant partisan,

A single soul acted upon so many,

Forced upon a dead man’s tomb,

Epitaph of a warrior gone

Now laid to rest,

As sacred blood burns through to a forgiven land.
