Can anybody please tell me why we are in Afganistan, as I am at a loss? Firstly I thought that it was to capture Osama Bin Laden, but that doesn’t seem to be on anybody’s list. Even if it is on the agenda, it wouldn’t seem to be at the top.
Let’s go back to the beginning of the war. After 9/11, President Bush decided to attack Afghanistan for a month or two before immediately switching to Iraq. Then Barack Obama showed up and was elected on the promise that he would “Bring Home the Troops”, which never actually happened. Even when he decided to pull them out of Iraq he ended up putting them straight back into Afghanistan.
If you look into it deeper you will find that there are a lot of high officials within the government who have shares in companies that make weapons, and I have to think that some of the reason why we’ve been at war for all this time is because of their influence. For starters it is known that George Bush has shares in companies that make weapons, which makes it even more puzzling that it happened to be him that lead us to the war in the first place.
The Osama Bin Laden theory can be ruled out for one simple reason. If you look on the FBI website you will find that Osama Bin Laden isn’t even down as being responsible for 9/11. When the FBI was asked the reason behind this they said that it was because they didn’t have enough evidence to prove that he was involved. So if that is the case why the war in the first place, and more importantly who is responsible for the 9/11 attacks?
This question needs to be answered before we can even justify the Afghan war. We already know that the Iraq war was a complete lie, so why should we believe the reasons for the Afghan war?
Simply put the conflict in the Middle East is a lie, and therefore to end the conflict all that we need to do is bring the troops home. Think about it this way. If a leader of any other county in the world did what President Bush did to Iraq, they would be put on trial for war crimes.
We need to learn to live in peace, and let others find their way. Not try to force our beliefs on other people.
It seems that despite his promises, Obama is not in any hurry to bring the troops home, so all we can do is pray for the poor souls that are still over there in the chance that they may see home soon.
