Euthanasia

No one should consider Euthanasia because of hearing loss or ineffective or defective hearing aids. Any Custom Made Hearing Aid ever created by any hearing aid manufacturer can always be repaired, upgraded, or remade. Custom Made Hearing Aids are those that are made by first taking an impression of the ear and then having the impression sent to a Shell Lab where a very exact replica of the ear is made and then a plastic duplicate of the concha and canal of the ear is made.

All the electronic components of a hearing aid are then assembled into the shell, the shell is closed by bonding what is called a Face-Plate on the Shell, and then the finished product is tested to see if it works. If the shell fits the shape of the ear in that it doesn't physically hurt, and the sound waves don't escape from the ear canal, which is called squeal or feedback, and if the user of the assembled hearing aid understands the spoken word more accurately when wearing the instrument than when the instrument is not worn, then it is considered a successful fitting.
In time, the shape of the ear canal may change, the plastic shell never does untless it is physically damaged, and if the shape of the ear-change is great enough then there may be a problem with sound-wave leakage which will cause a squeal or what is called feedback. In which case, regardless of how old the hearing aid is, then a new impression of the ear can be made and a new shell for the hearing aid can be made and such a procedure is called a remake. Some manufacturers refuse to perform this service because they hope you will be forced to buy a new hearing aid, hopefully one they are selling. Some hearing aid dealers will not inform you of this option because they too want to sell you a new hearing aid.Independent hearing aid repair labs will always repair any custom made hearing aid, profit is profit, and so there is no need to buy a new hearing aid because an existing shell doesn't fit for whatever reason, or the existing shell is damaged for any reason, such as being stepped on, chewed-up by either a human (by being mistaken-ed for a piece of candy) or a dog, because of the intolerable squeal, which for some reason neither dogs or cats can tolerate. Any Custom Made Hearing Aid can always be recased regardless of the reason. It is a lot cheaper than buying a new hearing aid because of damage. All of this work is guaranteed. Many manufacturers will always install all new electronics into the aid when they are remaking it,
