Each poem has its purpose,
A Reason why it's made.
This one is my apology
For those hurt along my way.
At times I may seem heartless,
At times I may seem rude,
But only when I lose my way
And my feelings get misconstrued.
Remember this this, though easily forgot:
When it seems you've been left behind,
No matter what it appears to be,
You're always on my mind.

Repeated

The loud slap of your hand
Across my face
Reddening cheek
Eyes filling with tears
I run out
You call my name
