Poetry: Long ago

by Holly Trout

Created on: October 10, 2010

Fifty years have gone by and I look to all the years passed

All the years that we have spent together and all that we have shared

All the memories and all the happiness that we have made together

The faces of our children and their children after that

We've had it hard at times but we have made it through it all

I never had a thought that we would never be

I never thought that it wouldn't work out

I never thought that it would end

Fifty years worth of happiness and bliss

Fifty years of all your love and happiness

Your smile and your touch with every year that goes by

I hope it never ends

I hope we can spend another fifty years in each others arms

Looking into each others eyes filled with the love of the last fifty years

Fifty years have gone by and I look to all the years passed

All the love shared and all the years in the future

Fifty years have passed and I hope for fifty years in the future
