Ah yes, church bells break the easy silence,
dawn rising at four a.m.
Souls of the sea
in her echoing serenade,
resounding back unto her own,
Ah yes, church bells break the easy silence,
Light fog, spirit's rain inhaled
clears my lungs
of a half centuries embrace,
waiting for the chance to sail,
years wasted of an amplified doubt,
inherent voices of the night,
a chant of wind tolling
in deepened hours;
evening fires fade into the depths of darkness,
magenta sky lowers twin booms,
Ah, church bells break the easy silence.
