Funnel cakes, snow cones, tummy-turning thrill rides, the carnival! What kid doesn't love the sights and sounds of the carnival? Surprise your little one with a carnival birthday party and watch their faces light up with excitement. What is great about carnival birthday parties is guests are kept entertained for hours and carnival parties can be done fairly cheap. Let's break the party into three categories: food, games and activities.
Food ~ This category is a super fun and easy one! Think about your birthday boy or girl's favorite carnival or country fair foods. Here are some ideas of popular carnival goodies.
1) Funnel cakes ~ These are super easy and can be made from ingredients you probably already have laying around your pantry. Be creative and have a small table set up with toppings such as powdered sugar, peaches, chocolate syrup, cinnamon, strawberries, caramel, etc., and let the birthday guests have fun decorating their own cakes. (Tip: You may want to employ some help here and have an adult other than the party host make the funnel cakes right before they will be eaten to avoid soggy funnel cakes.)
2) Snow cones ~ Shop ahead here and pick up a snow cone maker machine at the end of summer when you can find them on clearance. Make the snow cones in dixie cups and offer guests different colors for fun.
