Poetry: The root of fear

by Joseph Vanburen

Created on: October 08, 2010

Perhaps,

The root of fear is the search for God.

Putting complete faith in faith.

Devotion as a result of uncertainty.

Your prayers possibly unanswered.

Your hopes dependant upon ancient scriptures.

Your life in the hands of the dead.

Perhaps,

The root of fear is the search for God.

The knowledge of your own sins.

The pressure of repentance.

The great toll of sacrifice.

The possibility that, in fact,

Man made God in his image.

Perhaps,

The root of fear is the search for God.
