So you are going to a formal party and you have no idea what would be best suited for this type of arrangement. Well, there is nothing to fear! Once you get the basic idea of what colors and even patterns you wish to explore if can be as easy as tying a shoe. First and foremost you want to look great while doing and not just pile something on. Here are some of the best choices for when you got to wear formal wear!

Blouse or shirt 

For a special occasion the right kind of shirt is the most necessary. For women not opting for the whole idea of an elegant dress, can pair a beautiful blouse with a pencil skirt. The said blouse can be a variety of formal suiting colors such as a soft grey, a black, white, beige, or even a deep purple. The different styles of blouses can be a silk ruffled blouse with a small brooch at the neck or even a more chic side of elegance, a lacy blouse in a cream or black color. For men a nice dress shirt and tie is needed in the colors of grey, white, black, and even a wine red.

Pants or skirt 

No jeans allowed for any formal event! Men need to stick with some trousers, most probably in the colors grey and black, any other color would seem to be too loud and you don’t want to be the center of attention in a bad way. For women, if you are not the dress or skirt wearing kind of gal, you can wear some nice and simple boot cut pants in the color of grey or black, do not choose anything else on the color wheel, especially white. For skirts, do not pick anything too mini! It can look a bit disrespectful towards the event. Choosing a mid length flounce skirt is a great idea, as well as a tight fitted pencil skirt that goes to the top of the knees. And yet again choose natural neutral colors just like you would with a pant. Pick from greys, blacks, yet you can even go with an off white cream color as well.

As for accessories for women, go with a nice small clutch or purse that has two little holders that you can place around your arm. Keep it simple yet refined as well. Handling formal wear might seem a bit tricky at the start but you will catch on the hang of it soon enough!
