I loved you for a decade
I loved you from afar
I would come up to you
touch your hair, gently
when you slept
I would kiss you sweetly,
lightly on your head
I would sit by your bedside
and watched you sleep
you never knew my presence
Inside your head you dreamed
of freedom from this pain
I loved you from afar
and sat there by your bed
for a decade you were sleeping
