Poetry: Loss of my soul mate

by Shen-Li Lee

Created on: October 06, 2010

I gaze upon your lifeless face

Frozen in time and space.

Didn't we have our whole lives before us

Full of love and dreams and hope?

I touch your pale, cold hand

And long to feel your warmth again.

How can I live in this empty world

Now you have left me here alone?

You are my love, my life, my soul

Your essence gives me life.

The silence stabs my bleeding heart,

I cannot breathe without you.

Why didn't they take me too?

For I have died with you.

A soulless wraith upon this land

That's all that's left of me.
