Poetry: Where are you, God?

by Betty Blake

Created on: October 06, 2010

Innocent mothers and babies walking like zombies

too scared to return to a war torn abode

because the fathers have been slain by others.

Where are you, God? These people need help!

The already dilapidated structures go crashing on

them. The world watched and behold thousands begging

for food and shelter. Who can forget those half buried alive?

I have to ask, "where are you, God?" The suffering need you!

Millions have become nomads seeking refuge.

They travel endlessly seeking clean water and food.

How on earth must the world watch these poor people

suffer with such arid and infertile land?

More than ever the very rich are becoming increasingly

richer. They lie in wait like predators as they devise great schemes

to swindle the poor. Alas, the profits are not enough! Millions

will not do it! Got to aim for in the billions!

Who cares about those who have become homeless as

long as we make huge profits!

I get! You gave us all enough! But a few among us have broken

the rule by robbing from most of us. You are already among us

watching and analysing us!
