The religion or gospel truths and ordinances that Christ taught and setup constitutes the one true religion that stands out among the others. “God has restored knowledge about the plan of salvation, which is centered on Christ's Atonement and fulfilled by living the first principles and ordinances. God is our literal Father in Heaven. He loves us. Every person on earth is a child of God and a member of God's family. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is our Savior and Redeemer.
Our loving Father in Heaven reached out to His children throughout biblical history by revealing His gospel to prophets. Sadly, many people rejected that gospel; even some of those who accepted it changed gospel doctrines and ordinances and fell into unbelief and apostasy. Our Father in Heaven sent His beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to earth. He performed miracles and taught His gospel. He accomplished the Atonement and was resurrected. Beginning with the First Vision, God has again reached out in love to His children. He restored the gospel of Jesus Christ and His priesthood, authority and organized His Church on the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon is convincing evidence of this Restoration.” (Preach My Gospel)
Every religion has some bits and pieces of truth to offer those who embrace it. For the most part, Jesus Christ is central to their beliefs and they rely on faith as a necessary asset for spiritual growth. This leads me to a story that I once heard about a man who had been given a jar of pearls by a friend. The friend told him that all the pearls were imitation except for one. It was real and that if he could find that pearl it would change his life for good. The man who had received the pearls looked at them very closely. He noticed that from a distance the pearls all looked alike. He found there were some flaws that could only be detected by careful observation and examination. The man inspected every pearl that had been given to him. One day he found the pearl he had been looking for: a pearl of great price that changed his life forever. Among all the churches on the earth, there is one true church, the real pearl, the Church of Jesus Christ. When we left the presence of our Heavenly Father, he told us there would be messengers to help us find the way back to him, but we had to have a desire to find that way and then he would help us.
The Church of Jesus Christ is not just another religion, but rather it is the restoration of the fullness of the gospel, the same gospel taught since the beginning of time. I can only share my testimony to you of its truthfulness, for you to know for yourself, you would need to read the Book of Mormon for yourself to understand it and then ask God sincerely whether it is true. If you believe in the Bible, you will believe the Book of Mormon. They both are witnesses to the divinity of Jesus Christ.
