Assessing the world of online poker

Online poker is increasing in popularity every year and has many pros and cons that everyone should be aware of before playing for real money. Iconic poker websites such as Full Tilt Poker and Pokerstars claim that they have software that detects any player that is trying cheat/hack which I have personally experienced that it is very possible to hack your opponents computer whilst running poker software. No poker website can guarantee you full protection and there are people out there that can hack your computer through Full tilt Poker and see your cards which makes them virtually unbeatable.

Making money with online poker is much harder than in a casino, playing the odds online will not make you consistent cash. This is because the poker dealing software intentionally gives players close drawing hands like AA and KK to encourage more action, which means bigger pots and larger rake for the company.

Pros of online poker

Online poker enables you to take out the entire element of body language and reading your opponent in the flesh, this enables you to bluff more and make better moves. Comfort of your own home is always an amazing application of the Internet and poker with the freedom to release any emotion and also giving you better freedom over the table. Casino's can be a rough place and avoiding conversation or moving tables can be a hassle, online in much easier to avoid anyone or faster for moving tables

Cons of online poker

Gambling in any shape or form online usually has more cons than pros and online poker is no exception! There are many ways you can be scammed which are very hard to dectect and realize whilst playing.

Collusion is very common at every poker site online and is extremely hard to detect or know when you are being colluded. Collusion is when several players at a table work together against one player and gradually take their stack or even bankroll, the only way you can really avoid this is to play at a table where you may know a few players. Collusion can also be forced by one player who may have several accounts and several computers all running in the same room. Anybody that falls into these rooms is basically bait for the sharks and has a very slim chance of winning anything.

Unfortunately avoiding these is extremely hard and virtually impossible to detect, overall online poker is a dangerous, unpredictable place which is home to many smart people that aren't there to play fair.
