Premenopause sounded scary the first time I heard it. I often wondered how I would be able to tell if the change of life (so it's called) was happening to me. I was always so cold as a child I would often pray for hot flashes just to be warm. I can now let it be said that one should be careful what they pray for.

With all the changes that take place during premenopause due to hormonal shifts, it's a safe bet that most women think they have or are going to lose their minds. The hot flashes, the vaginal dryness, the mood swings, and the change in one's cycle makes it hard to adjust to all of this at once.

For most women the emotional issues that arise during premenopause can and are as difficult as the physical ones. Rest assured that it's OK to cry and that you are not losing your mind.

Sometimes eating a vegetarian low fat diet can help with the physical symptoms. Getting a message to help relieve tension, back aches, headaches is a great way to combat some of the nagging symptoms.

It's important that your doctor listens to your thoughts and issues surround premenopause.
