So there we were
Looking up at the sky,
Together.
Truly thought
That you and I
Could storm
Any kind of weather.
I still look up at the sky,
Only now I do it alone
My heart now understands
That you were never mine
To own.
So all the whispers,
Love and emotions
Must be subdued
And knifed in large portions.
What a shame
That we had to stop
Our passionate tango,
Even though all I want to scream
Is please, please, please
Don’t let go.
I’ve told you before
“I love you” doesn’t do justice
Cause it was more than that:
An ardor with no definition
A passion with no deletion,
And in the end,
A feeling with no completion.
Now my heart feels sore
And it loves you no more
But still sometimes it aches
And I must try to somehow
Find peace
By doing whatever it takes.

Poetry: Lost love
by Olu Burrell
I think about you when I'm looking ahead
And also in moments of reminiscence
But do me a favor and don't ask me
To tell you
The man in the jacket, walking through snow,
His faithful friend, always in tow,
Forever smiling, happy look on his face,
Whatever
So there we were
Looking up at the sky,
Together.
Truly thought
That you and I
Could storm
Any kind of weather.
I still
Do not wait for me with bated breath,
because my heart dances to and fro.
Its chambers are hollowed and empty
it longs for
As a bird perched on the edge of its nest
eyes searching the unknown world outside
strengthening its wings, yearning to fly
