You know, it really is tough being a parent BUT getting your child to eat his/her food and to take medicine, should never be a problem if you don't make it a problem that is. I know I myself grew up eating some stuff that I thought that looked funky, smelled funky and all of my friends would curl their nose up at me. If there was ever one thing that my mother ever really taught me, I would say that she has taught me that when you show negativity in front of your child with food, they will not like it. She also taught me that if you cook good for your children from infant and up, they will learn to eat good and carry this forth to their own children.
Now we all know how a mother tests the temperature of their babies jar food before putting it into the babies mouth, DO NOT MAKE A FACE! Simple as that, your baby watches you especially when they know that food is theirs! Always say YUMMMM although it might taste like the smell of year old dirty socks. When you introduce your child to solids, make sure that there is always a variety of healthy food on their plate. If you didn't convince your child by making yucky faces with the mushy food, this shouldn't be a problem.
The same goes for medicine. I have seen so many people who have to fight with their children to get them to take medicine! Well again, it does not help when a parent talks about how a certain medicine may have a yucky smell or even taste. Never tell your child stories of the dislike you have for anything that has flavor! It will totally impact their thoughts on what they think about anything! We have four young children who have no problem eating of consuming medicine.
