A Christmas Miracle
The clock strung ten in the morning
And the children rushed out to play
Feasting on smiles and laughter
As they anticipated their day.
Energetic children soon grew tired
And sprawled across glistening snow
Giggling as they looked at the sky
With smiling faces all aglow.
Then, out of nowhere came a call,
“Please, help me God, lest we die.”
Ears perked up and eyes went wide;
A mom and baby - what a surprise!
Rising from perches in the snow -
Leaving snow angels in their wake,
Little children gathered ‘round
And offered help, for goodness' sake.
A new beginning, a brand new day
With hopeful heart and joyful soul
Children singing merrily -
They found their Christmas miracle...

It was Christmas Eve and soft white snow
Blanketed the towns and villages below
While deep in the woods among all the trees

Listening in surprise
It is a miracle
the baby wrapped
in swaddling clothes,
tiny hands, eyes, ears,
unbelievably human.
Unto us a child is born.

Christmas, through windows, cast pools at my feet.
