Pack away those summer clothes,
Get out the sweats and winterize,
Soon icy sprites will nip your nose,
It’s fall, a feast for hungry eyes.
That white cloud high in clear blue sky,
Is swiftly passing from the north,
Canadian geese are flying by,
Where southern lands still offer warmth.
Grotesque scarecrows guard the fields,
While haystacks stand on sentinel duty,
They both protect the harvest’s yields,
While enhancing Autumn’s awesome beauty.
The countryside blazes with colors bold,
And leaves flutter from tree to ground,
All dressed in Mother Nature’s gold,
Fall’s blended colors are all around.
Tailgate parties are in season
And football games get our attention,
Weiner roasts are one more reason
For Fall to receive an honorable mention.
Carving pumpkins, Trick or Treat,
Halloween surprises not too scary,
Kids in costumes are so neat,
With candy bags just right to carry.
A brisk wind flutters through the trees
As Harvest Moon sails through the sky,
A sudden coolness on the breeze,
Warns that winter is near-by.
Pumpkin cookies with hot apple cider,
A delicious treat for all to praise.
As Autumn stands with God beside her,
To lead her into shortened days.
What other season has such sights,
What other can compare with Fall?
With sunny days and chilly nights,
It’s Autumn now, the best time of all.

Poetry: It's fall
by Carol Gioia
Leaves transform to red and gold,
weather turning very cold,
wind and rain are common sights,
full moon illuminates the nights.

The soft wisp of a cool breeze.
Summer has finally passed.
The smell of leaves is in the air.
The crisp sensation overcomes

Pack away those summer clothes,

It’s fall, a feast
Fall's Child
Yellow, orange, and red painted leaves
Cascade vacating the trees
Leaves falling everywhere! They
When Summer ends in Autumn's grace
And the wind kicks up its' breezes
When leaves blush to pinks and reds
And golden hues
