The party that’s best able to handle the economy is neither party because if one was better than the other, than why are we in such debt? The only party that can handle the economy are the American people. We must take control of our economy because until we do, both parties will never stop spending.
The way we Americans can take control of our economy is to hold our elected officials feet to the fire and until we do, nothing will ever change. The Republicans and Democrats are more alike than we like to admit, they are both good at spending our money and pretending it’s the other parties fault in thirty seconds sound bites. Think about how many times both parties have promised to balance the budget and cut spending. Think about how many times we have elected the same senators every election year and how long they have been promising us a balanced budget. The question is then, why do we keep electing the same politicians who continue to make the same empty promises? The answer is simple, the politicians have accomplished exactly what they set out to do many years ago, divide us into party affiliation and divide us as a people. As long as we are divided and fall in line to one party or another, our economy will always be in disarray. We are the only ones that can manage our economy because we are the ones who pay the price for their empty promises. So how do we accomplish this goal?
First, we need to remove our political blinders, separate ourselves from our party affiliation and hold them all accountable. The information is out there to find if we want to do research about our leaders. Who’s a real fiscal conservative and who is not; the information is there for the finding. How can these modern day fiscal conservative be called fiscal conservatives if they want to add trillions more to the national debt? How can a politician promise to add more to the national deficit and still be considered a fiscal conservative? We all have heard the line that tax cuts do not pay for themselves? Some will argue that we can add trillions to the debt if we cut spending or as some will say “wasteful spending”. Ask any politician to describe what wasteful spending and ask him or her to give you details not just talking points.
