Poetry: Downward spiral

Voyager of uncharted course

Verdant green pastures,
never ending, tinged with a voile of saffron
ruby lips of deception randomly criss cross willow patterned intersections
foliage of serrated garb weeps silent by the meandering watercourse.

None have ventured so far in many an age
forgotten footprints once moulded in perpetuity.
redundant !
difficult to traverse yet not unattainable for the worthy.

Alone among the damned;
heading towards confusion
longing for comforting words or perhaps a glance,
deft touches of lavender coloured gloves amidst the harsh realities,
hoping.

Angelic voices drift among the cloudless sky
cool white shards of light exposing the gigantic moon,
its size magnified by the ellipse,
a shimmering mellow glow of certainty within uncertain times.

Inverted rainbows reflected in stagnant eyes,
clouded with remorseful pity;
exuding childlike fascination with those that are doomed
waiting while the elongating shadows slowly creep.
