Exercise is an important part of weight loss. It’s also an important part of a healthy balanced lifestyle that ensures you have lots of energy and a heart that functions correctly. Even with all the hype about the benefit of exercise millions of people still don’t get the importance of working out when you want to lose weight or become a healthier person. Just take a look at people who have made exercise a part of their life. They aren’t just slimmer versions of themselves, they are also much happier and full of vigor for life.
One of the reasons why exercise is so important for weight loss is that it helps create a calorie deficit. Our weight depends on the calories that we put into our body and the calories that we use up. If there’s something left over we’re going to gain weight. Break even and we’re likely to maintain our current weight. Use up more than we consume and we’ll probably start dropping the weight we don’t want to carry. Without adequate daily exercise it becomes difficult to create a sufficient calorie deficit for weight loss.
When you exercise your body functions differently. The food you consume gets processed and digested much easier and quicker than when you are leading a sedentary lifestyle. Your metabolism plays a key role in weight loss. The faster it works the easier it becomes to drop excess weight. The more sluggish it is and the harder you are going to have to work to burn fat and lose weight. Exercise helps speed up your metabolism so if you want a fast one doing aerobic type exercise five times a week and weight training three times a week will help you lose weight quickly, efficiently and permanently.
Exercising when you are trying to lose weight will help keep your muscles toned. If you are severely overweight you may end up with saggy skin and no muscles if you omit exercise, particularly weight training. Training with weights will help build sufficient muscle to keep your metabolism revved as well as give your body a more toned appearance as you lose weight which is much nicer than feeling like a rubber. Forty five minutes two or three times a week of strength training is sufficient to help you with your weight loss.
Weight loss without exercise isn’t going to bring the desired results. Getting fit will help you not only lose weight but also to mould a body that will make you feel proud and help you function at the best of your ability without feeling fatigued or run down.
