A lot of us have seen the commercials or heard other people talking about the use of internet fax systems. These are virtual fax machines that take the inconvenience out of the traditional way in which we send faxes. There are numerous features that you should be able to find with just about any provider and many of them include:
Choice of Fax Number – You can select your own fax number or even port over one that you are currently using. If you want a 1-800 number or one that it is not within your area code, most providers will offer that service as well.
Online Storage – Along with the use of internet fax, you can store your documents online. Both sent and received files are easily stored on your provider’s servers until you remove them or the length of storage period has been reached.
Use Email to Send/Receive – By using an internet fax, you can send and receive your faxes directly from your email account. No longer do you have to worry about a specialized machine and phone line to get the job done.
Ease of Applications – You can use just about any internet fax application to send/receive your documents.
Editing Capabilities – Along with the convenient send and receive options, you can also edit and manage your documents online for future reference or to –resend.
Microsoft Office Compatibility –Most providers will offer documents that are compatible with Microsoft Office programs. Therefore you can easily download a document straight to your Microsoft Word or Excel program.
Alerts and Logs – Along with everything coming to your email, you will have your fax logs available to you no matter what time of the day and no matter where you are. You can easily check to see which faxes were sent or are still waiting in a queue. If you have an incoming document you can use alerts to let you know when it is received.
Security – By using a web-based internet fax system, you have the added security of your documents being stored online. No longer do you have to worry about losing precious documents and the online storage server will back-up data, phone numbers, and received documents for a few months. Along with back-up options, your items will be sent securely through an SSL service so that you know no one is reading your documents except the intended recipient.
