Poetry: Make my day

by Sarah Martin

Created on: September 30, 2010

Sometimes you can just look at me,

You don't even have to hold me.

Just your eyes can lift me up.

You make my day.

When the rain falls, and my god it pours,

You’re always there to put a smile on my face.

Your touch, your words, you just give me "the" feeling.

You make my day.

When times are tough and you’re not around,

Friends just don't suffice.

The sound of your voice cuddles my heart.

Boy, you make my day.

When the confetti fell, and the bells chimed.

You in your suit made me melt.

Self written vows, surprise morning flowers.

Baby, you made my day.

And still, 10 years on, your wrinkled eyes gives me butterflies.

Your rough working hands still fit mine like a perfect jigsaw.

After a day's work, smelly and grumpy.

Darling, you still and always will...make my day.
