Perfect places for a wedding proposal

by Timmy Duncan

Sometimes the most perfect place for a wedding proposal is an elegant and romantic dinner at your favorite restaurant. Maybe it is the site of your first date. Maybe it is your own home. The point is that the perfect place to ask someone to marry you is an incredibly personal and individual decision. It might be somewhere that would only make sense to the two of you - and perhaps that makes it even more perfect and romantic.

I recently heard someone describe their proposal story. Her future husband proposed while they were walking the dogs at the state park that they both loved. The girl had a bag of dog poop in her hand when he popped the question. Some people who were listening laughed and sort of scoffed at it, but for them it made perfect sense. And in its own way, that is what made it so romantic. Even though to someone else it might have been lame, or even gross, for them it made all the sense in the world and it was a perfect description of who they were as a couple.

Think about who you are as a couple and what means the most to you. You don't necessarily have to pick the most extravagant and lavish place to propose, you just have to pick a place that makes sense to you. Sometimes that is more romantic than all the hearts and flowers money could buy. Think about your relationship and all its ups and downs. Is there any place that is particularly special to the two of you for any reason? Maybe the site of a first date, the place where you first exchanged the words "I love you". Something that is private and special just between the two of you often makes the perfect site for a proposal.

The perfect place to pop that very important question is different for every couple. The perfect place for one couple might not make any sense for another couple. There is no right or wrong answer here, the point is to think about it and make it personal. Make it something that only makes sense to the two of you. The more details that are personal to you and your relationship, the more perfect it will be. Like sharing an inside joke, it can add to the special dynamics of your relationship as you share the rest of your lives together.
