It is happening again. That sick feeling deep in her stomach that makes her wonder what is going to happen today. There have been times in the past where this feeling has come around and nothing ever good comes of it. The feeling starts of as if she had not had enough sleep. That slightly groggy, heavy feeling that is so often accompanied by slight nausea. She begins to think back about the times in the past where it has woken her from a sound sleep and soon discovered to her dismay that something was horribly wrong.
The first time
She was merely eleven years old and woke up from a sound sleep. The morning was just breaking and a quick peek outside her window revealed that it would be a sunny day. Her stomach told her otherwise. This was not going to be a good day, her grandpa had died.
She went in search of her parents who must surely be at the hospital; curious as to which sitter was there she ventured down the stairs. But, there was no one there. Back up the stairs she went and opened the door to her parent's bedroom. They were asleep. But, how could this possibly be? She woke her mother up and said, ma why are you not at the hospital? Grandpa died this morning.
Her mother assured her that she was wrong, that grandpa was sick, but that he had not died. Then suddenly breaking the quiet of the morning, the telephone rang. It was the hospital advising her that her mother that her grandfather had died twenty minutes before. They should come to the hospital should they wish to see him before they removed his body. She sobbed - "I told you.".
A few years later
At age sixteen she was convinced that her prior experience about knowing about her grandfather was a passing thing. This was probably the overactive imagination of a child and she had long since outgrown that. In the middle of her school day she began to feel sick. Not sick enough to go home, but not well enough to focus on what was going on at school. She was sure that something was not right, but she was unsure what it was.
She traveled home with a slightly upset stomach with her godfather on her mind. For no particular reason, she simply could not stop thinking about him. When she arrived home she asked her mother for permission to contact him by telephone and it was granted. She called, but there was no answer.
She began working on her homework and did not mention the creepy feeling she was
