Now the whole object of going to Wal-Mart, is to spend money, and spending money is both a necessity and a habit. Wal-Mart's objective too is to lure you into the store, because they know you will spend money. I know it is true, because friends at church and work tell me, "I have to go to wal-Mart just about every day. I go in to pick up a couple of items I forgot yesterday, that shouldn't have been much more that ten dollars. By the time I leave that ten dollars had turned into forty, fifty, or more. Its just impossible to go into that store and not spend less that fifty dollars, and most of the time its closer to a hundred, even though I wasn't intending to spend that much."
Maybe the citizens of Hazlehurst Mississippi had an influence on Wal-Mart to close, the small store, so they could buy some acreage, across the road and build their super center, with an increased parking lot size, that could park every vehicle in Hazlehurst and still have spaces left over. Not meaning Hazlehurst is that small town, for in recent years it has become a growing vibrant city. I believe some of this can be attributed to Wal-Mart. When the new super center opened, the only thing different is that it contains a grocery store. Of course I leave that part up to my wife. I muse how ironic it is that everything in the old Wal-Mart has been moved to here. Now there is more of the same ole stuff, spread out. The same people will buy more of it because it is now a super center.
I might be able to say that I am the only one here in this town, who can go into Wal-Mart, mill about the store for an hour or two and then leave with all the money I had when I went in. My wife informs the cashiers, when she is with me. "You'll have to wait a minute until the shock wears down and he can pry his billfold open." While the cashier stares at her in disbelief, she remarks again, "he is the only man that carries a wallet in his back pocket, that is at least fifteen years old and looks brand new. It needs oiling just to open it." While I get the money out, she remarks, "I'm only teasing."
A few years ago, right after our marriage, we were in the Super center at Brookhaven Mississippi, before the Hazlehurst super center was built. Brookhaven is a larger city about thirty miles South of Hazlehurst. This store is a better store that the one in Hazlehurst, so she prefers this one. It was the holiday season, and as usual, she went one way and I the other. Eventually we will cross paths when
