Beautiful Chaos
A slammed door.
Running feet down the hallway,
A crash. A scream. A laugh and a giggle.
Drip, drip, drip. Please hurry coffee,
They say the country is falling apart.
Yes, turn off the news,
I would love to hear Spongebob laugh.
Two months until he leaves,
Again.
Sigh.
The grass needs to be mowed,
The house is a wreck,
Mouse in the trap,
Raccoons in the trash,
Dogs chase the deer,
Barking, barking, barking.
Here they come down the stairs.
Fighting, hitting, yelling, laughing.
Take a deep breath.
Drink the last drop.
Kiss that Beautiful Man.
The children are awake,
And my glorious day has begun.
