With all good things, comes the bad. That's not to say it's meant to be but reality reveals a bit too much at times and when you’ve exposed yourself through checking in to places online, embarrassing things can happen. Thus, with the location-based service, Foursquare, what's worse is you can accumulate a Mayor badge for a certain number of times you've checked in.

Furthermore, when this news is blasted to everyone on your network, how embarrassing can that be. 'John is in Down and Dirty Club'. That may look funny now but take that further and see how that will look to your network. For that, here are some places your don't want to be seen checking in often on Foursquare or even reveal at all.

Adult Shop

Foursquare has a lot of places with profane names. It might be too hardcore to digest at points and you might find that every other place may seem like an adult shop as well. In cases like these, you can rename the spot to your own liking. However, if you really are a regular to a genuine adult shop, you might find yourself being questioned for being there often, especially if you reveal yourself to your friends.

Thus, it's probably a good idea to adjust your settings and not show your location on Foursquare. Unless you want to answer questions on what you've been doing at nights, seeing a lot of these may influence your reputation and image negatively. Furthermore, embarrassment will be plenty as you become teased.

The Local Jail

The last thing your friends will want to see is you didn't come home after the party, but through checking your status online, you are in jail because you checked in! Maybe you were drunk. Who knows. Things like these can happen unexpectedly. Furthermore, your phone was taken away and now you can't switch off the location.

Liquor Store

You drink every Friday night. Suddenly, all your visits have given you the honorable mention of being the Mayor of a Liquor Store in Foursquare. Now look at who's the big daddy or momma for alcohol? Again, this is not something you want but it happened naturally.

While you may drink socially, being crowned Mayor of a liquor store does you no good but gives others the joke of asking you to run the to the liquor store for more alocohol. Unless, you don’t mind the joke, take that as a small talk conversation waiting to happen. How's that for embarrassing?

The hospital is a big call for drama. Not only will you get your friends and family worried, but unless some minor accident wasn’t
