There are so many cliché ideas for what weddings in Las Vegas are like. But, what people are beginning to realize is that there is so much more to a Las Vegas wedding than being married at a rinky-dink wedding chapel officiated by an Elvis impersonator.
Nowadays, not only are couples being married at unique wedding locations like the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay, the
Eiffel Tower at the Paris Hotel or right in the middle of the dessert at the Valley of Fire, but wedding receptions in Las Vegas have begun to be unique and non-traditional as well. One of the growing trends in Las Vegas wedding receptions is the in-suite wedding reception.
The easiest way to plan an in-suite wedding reception is to contact the hotel of choice and make arrangements with the hotel’s on-site wedding coordinator and caterer. By choosing this option, it can take away a lot of stress when planning the reception, however, creative freedom is somewhat sacrificed. Also, the price of the reception can cost thousands of dollars more when arranged directly through the hotel in opposed to doing the work yourself.
For the Do-It-Yourself aspect of planning an in-suite reception, you must first choose the hotel that the reception will take place. One thing to note however is that no every hotel allows outside caterers on their premises. Because of that fact, many couples look to use the Vista or Media Suites at Mandalay Bay, the Grand Terrace Suite at MGM Grand, or the Apex and Panorama Suites at Planet Hollywood. Not only do these hotels allow outside caterers in their suites, but they also provide breathtaking views of The Strip. Additionally, some of these suites can comfortably fit up to 100 people, so, even if you are planning on a larger guest count, it is still possible to have an in-suite reception.
The next step is to choose caterers. Due to the fact that there is more seating in the suites for an informal experience, rather than space available to have a formal dining experience, most couples opt to offer their guests a cocktail reception with light to heavy appetizers. Due to rave reviews, many couples use Masterpiece Catering or Jason’s Deli, both of which claim to work with any budge. Masterpiece Catering also will set up the food for you and they offer bartending services, as well as wedding cake services.
For alcohol and other beverages, many couples either go to Costco or Lee’s Liquors
