Poetry: Sadness

by Felicity Collier

Created on: September 27, 2010

"I feel such sadness deep inside
and fight to keep the tears at bay.
Your news has shattered my whole life
and taken all I had away."

"Mum, it was not easy for me
to tell you that we have to go.
It breaks my heart to read your eyes,
you mean so much, I love you so.

"But my divorce caused me such pain
I have to take my children with me
and build a new  home full of hope,
I know that it is meant to be."

"Darling, I have touched your pain
but do not believe that it is right
to flee so far for your fresh start.
Your babies gave my life its light.

"I feel the glue of blood and love
which binds us closer day by day.
You steal away from us our meaning
by taking them so far away."

"Mum, you are sobbing in my dreams.
I know now that I need you too.
I pray that you will come and join me
because the children call for you"
