Every person needs a vision in order to realize success. Two elements work together to help your vision become a reality.
1) Reach - You must steadfastly reach for what you want to attain.
2) Focus - You need to focus your mind on your success.
Reach and focus, you cannot have one without the other if you want to attain your goal. For example, in order for an investor to put money in your business, you should reach to show a good product, marketing skills and solid business growth. You focus your attention on creating the best product possible, building your client base, and putting profits back into the business for expansion.
We often hear that we are what we think about. Therefore, when you seek a higher job level, focus on the traits of the person currently in that position. Model them in professional dress and confidence. If you feel insecure, you can select someone you feel is the picture of self-assurance and copy them. Simply act poised. Let your walk, your posture and demeanor create the image of confidence. The mind is a powerful tool you can use to reach your vision of being a confident, successful businessperson.
Choose each morning to affirm that you are a winner. Upon rising think, I have two choices that will help or hinder reaching my vision. I can focus on positives and what I reach for, or I can allow myself to be distracted and unproductive. I can let the day’s incidents direct my steps, never to achieve the success I envision; or I can model the successful person I want to be. Ultimately, your focus is self-fulfilling. Focus on the necessary tasks and reach for success or allow your distractions to make your vision only a dream. Aristotle said, “Hope is a waking dream.” Hope and picture success and you will be rewarded.
Write out your vision statement and post it in strategic places, scrolling across your computer screen, tacked to your bathroom mirror and refrigerator. For example, it might read, “I am the top salesman for this quarter,” or “I am a successful, self-employed consultant.” Keep the vision of your success before you, reach with all your being to accomplish what is needed, and determine to stay focused. Your unwavering mindset will make your vision of success a reality.
