You said you'd always protect me,
You called me your best friend,
So why are you breaking my heart.
You smile and stare into my eyes,
Stroke my cheek and kiss my lips,
Don’t you realize your breaking my heart?.
You’re so close and yet so far,
I can touch your arms and stroke your back,
But I can’t touch your heart.
And never will be able to,
You told me that.
The night you said you wanted it to end,
You didn’t want to date me any more.
What did I do wrong?,
I love you, why can’t you love me.

Poetry: One-sided love
by Moeze Lalji
One sided love
That is not
A game of tennis
The fruits will fall
The blessings will go away
What an empty home
We are cuddling
I am only a brief sentence
In your book of life,
Yet in mine, you take up chapters
With material that is always rife.
Such
Derailed
Two trains and one track
the destination the same
Speeding toward each other
Masochistic mind-framed
Eyes open illuminated
by Rick Bavera
Our friendship began as just that.
Friendship.
We connected.
We have so much in common.
Similar interests,
But different,
You said you'd always protect me,
You called me your best friend,
So why are you breaking my heart.
You smile and stare
