There was a time when a tattoo was found only on men in the military or on gangs of motorcyclists and their women. Tattoos today symbolize fashion as well as a statement or a belief. Tattoos are not only found on young women but also those considered middle age. Instead of getting tattoos on the ankle or arm some women are opting to get a tattoo in the region of their lower back. You may ask “Why do so many women get lower back tattoos?” There are a variety of reasons a woman may choose to get a lower back tattoo.

Reasons For Lower Back Tattoos

 A few of the reasons why a women would choose to get a tattoo on her lover back can vary. For instance:

 Employment – Corporate office decorum suggests if one has a tattoo it should be covered during working hours. When a woman gets a tattoo on her lower back she is keeping with in the confines of her employment while allowing the fun side of her to stay hidden.

Sag Free – Let's be honest; women are vain and this pertains to tattoos as well. Tattoos on the lower back are perfect for the woman who doesn't want to worry about the tattoo sagging with age. The region of the lower back normally doesn't sag or wrinkle and almost never gains weight. So the best place for a woman to retain the look of a tattoo would be in the lower part of her back.

It Looks “Hot” - When a woman wants to appear sexy she enhances her appearance. One erogenous zone on the body is the lower back. Placing a tattoo on the lower back provides some women with a sense of increased sexuality. They know the the tattoo is the focus of attention when exposed on their lower back. The position of the tattoo over the hips, does attract attention from men and this can be a topic for beginning a conversation that may or may not lead to a relationship.

The Need to Be Fashionable – There are women who get a tattoo on their lower back as a fashion statement. They have a need to look fashionable when wearing the lower cut skirts, jeans, and skimpy swimsuits. It is as uncomplicated a reason as that.

This article has just touched on a few of the reasons women get tattoos on their lower backs. Other reasons could be to make a statement, memorialize a loved one, or in protest. The list is endless only the woman getting the tattoo on her lower back knows for sure why she choose to get a tattoo in the first place.
