On September 1, 2010, early bird users were able to sign up and recruit for a new online payment processor called PayBox for about a week. To stay in the early bird program and earn some money you need to stay active. You need to log onto the website each day, complete the surveys as applicable to your ideas and experiences, and subscribe to the PayBox accounts. They also have posted a launch timeline on the main site for all users to view. Yesterday it was announced that the community is growing more rapidly than original expected and the timeline will be changed to make the launch come sooner.
Is it a scam?
Normally, I am a skeptic. With PayBox, I really do not believe it is a scam at all. Some have ventured to say that by the time the launch date arrives the owner will have so many email addresses that he can sell them to make his money, shut down the site and move on. I do not believe this is the case by any means.
Scammers do not go to the extent of setting up a website, creating a timeline, posting to a blog and creating a forum. In just a few days I can see that there is much work going into the development of the website, leading me to believe this is a pure, legit attempt at creating a new and better online payment system?
What do I get?
First, early bird users will get $50 in their PayBox accounts. There are currently five surveys to earn some more money, although it does not say how much you will earn for each. Three surveys are about your particular experiences with online shopping, one is about your online social interactions and the final one is about what you are looking for in an online payment processor.
What else can I do to earn money on PayBox?
You can recruit friends to sign up and take advantage of the early bird program. For each friend that uses your referral link your PayBox. After you sign up for an account, you can view the timeline and see when they intend to hire people to fill each position. As of right now, there are two job postings covering many positions including technical positions.
What if PayBox fails?
If PayBox blog. I have already heard chatter that early bird users do not like this arrangement. However, it is not yet known what the marketplace is.
Is it items the owner is selling? Items the owner will purchase for you and ship to you and deduct your PayBox account accordingly? Or will it simply be links to online merchants such as eBay? We do not know at this point, but no matter what the marketplace entails, it is a sure bet that you will be able to spend the money you earned as an early bird user and receive merchandise without spending money out of your own pocket.
Overall, PayBox is well worth the time to sign up, log in each day, read the blog and recruit a few friends. I believe the site is legit and will thrive in 2011, but, in order to thrive they will need your membership.
