Tips for playing Restaurant City on Facebook

Restaurant City is definitely one of the most used and most popular applications on Facebook, having more than twenty million users each month. It replicates how a restaurant runs in real life - in a child friendly way. There are three types of people who play Restaurant City - those who create restaurants, and are successful, those who create restaurants, and are unsuccessful, and those who are unsuccessful, and end up hacking to beat their friends. However, there are many different important factors which can help you create a successful restaurant legitimately.

One of the most important things to consider when trying to make your restaurant as efficient as possible is the layout of your restaurant. It is important to remember that the most amount of tables in a single restaurant is not almost the best option. There are two main ways you can set up your restaurant - separate tables, like how your restaurant begins, or island/islands, which is where all tables face towards a central point, with waiters inside that shape and chefs either inside or outside that shape, where the waiters have easy access to the stoves. While the original layout has more of a restaurant-like feel, it is evident which one is more efficient if you picture both types of layouts in your mind - the island layout.

Open Restaurant City up and go to the 'Gourmet Street'. You will most likely find some great restaurants, and some of those which are not so high level. However, most of the restaurants on these levels should have reasonably good layouts, of which almost all should be an island layout. Island layouts work out well when your restaurant is busy, and not as well when your popularity is low. This is because your waiters do not have to move as much when walking around - this shortens the serving time and makes your restaurant more efficient. It is important to count the number of squares your waiters have to walk to get to between the two tables and drink machines/stoves where the distance is furthest - this helps you decide which layout is the most efficient. Consider the fact that when walking diagonal, you would count that tile as 1.41, or the result of the square root of two. This also means that walking diagonal is faster than walking two tiles.

Another factor of laying out your restaurant to consider is where your entrance is placed. Sometimes it is better to have more seats, so that nobody has to wait, or sometimes it is better to have less seats, and some waiting seats set
