Poetry: Seeds

by Geoffrey Schmitt

Created on: September 24, 2010

There are seeds we like to chew on

There are seeds we love to plant

There are seeds in watermelon

That we spit upon our aunts

There are seeds we shake on salad

There are seeds we love to munch

There are seeds in songs and ballads

There are seeds in today’s lunch

But the seeds of loving kindness

Are the best seeds of them all

For the fruit that grows will bless us

As upon our life it falls
