Halo Reach quickly rose to prominence as one of the most popular video games in the world following its release in September of 2010. Not only did it surpass records set previously by other Halo titles in the series, but it also broke a record set by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. However, while Halo Reach can indeed prove to be a truly awe inspiring game in many ways, it can also prove to be addictive. This is not necessarily a bad thing. The fact that it becomes addictive increases replayability and its popularity but it is also important not to let the addiction to arguably one of the best games of the year hinder your life.
One of Halo Reach’s most popular features is its online multiplayer gameplay. It is this aspect which is often the most sought after in the entire Halo series. Halo Reach boasts updated and modern day multiplayer gameplay however that arguably sets the standard of the year that other multiplayer titles will have to work from in order to surpass. When you play an online multiplayer game of Halo Reach, this is when it can start to become addictive. You will be intent on winning games and subsequently increasing your recognition and rankings, as well as your credits which can then be spent on upgrading your character.
From the first time you see your credits increasing; you will then turn to the customization page and see the high costs of expensive upgrades that are the most sought after. You will then play more and strive to achieve the goal of wearing the best upgrades possible. It works in the exact same way when you consider the aspect of raising your ranks and recognition on the online servers. If you want the higher ranks, you have to work in order to get them, which of course from playing more multiplayer games and working to achieve the higher ranks. This in turn can prove to be very addictive yet equally entertaining.
If you are one of the many that have already become addictive to the flawless multiplayer world of Halo: Reach, then it is not necessarily a bad thing by any means at all. It simply means that you need to recognize this as a potential problem if it goes on for an elongated period of time. By all means work towards the most recognizable accomplishments in the multiplayer world of Halo: Reach, but only do so if it does not interfere with your personal or professional life. There is no denying that Halo Reach is one of the best games of the year, but remember just that, it is only a game. Become addicted to it by all means, but do not let that addiction turn into a problem for other aspects of your life.
