Happiness is something that should come naturally, there should be no talking of quests, making it seem daunting and only available if you face the challenge. Too many people look at marriage as such a chore and something that takes a lot of hard work, but if you spend all of your time trying to make things work, because you are so different, then your marriage can never be truly happy. When a couple marry, they should already have some basic understanding of their partner and be able to relate to them and understand them without having to make a big deal out of it and turning their happiness and marriage into a challenge. They should already be aware of their dislikes also and when a need arises that you need to compromise, you should be able to simple make it work and return the favours for each other.
To find happiness, you must first find yourself. You can not expect others to know how to help you feel happy, if you do not know what makes you happy. So many people blame their faults on others, when really they just have not looked at themselves deep enough. They rely on others to make them happy, but no matter what others try it is never lasting happiness, because they have not learnt enough about themselves first.
Once you have got to know about yourself, you can then successfully open for love and happiness and learning the things that make your partner happy also. It is important in a marriage to understand your partners needs as much as yours, that alone can make you felel happy. It is important though to know when you need to compromise. Two people can not be alike in everyway and so everybody needs to compromise. It is important to see why you need to compromise at times and you should epect them that your partner may also compromise something for you.
When compromising, what I mean is, One partner may really want to go and watch someone live and that will make them happy, even though the other partner does not like them, they will compromise and join them. In return the next time, the other partner will compromise in order to make their partner happy.
Marriage is all about compromising and understanding. It is about wanting to make the other partner happy, in order for them to help bring you happiness.
