Brett Favre will go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time. Favre wants to cement his legacy as a champion by retiring after a winning season, maybe another Super Bowl. It would bother him by retiring after a season when they fell short of the playoffs. The Packers were not expected to finish as well as they did. They finished just one game behind the NY Giants for the final playoff spot. Favre could smell the post-season, it may have reignited his passion to play. A few key pieces and the Packers could be contenders in the weak NFC.
Dan Marino could be shedding a few more tears this season. He could be losing a few more records, which is all he owns, since Marino does not own a ring. Favre needs just a few TDs, 4,000 yards passing, and a few wins and he'll earn three or four all-time marks. Favre should end his career with over 61,000 passing yards, 430+ TDs, and over 150 wins. He will earn a yellow blazer in a few years and be a first-ballot Hall of Fame inductee.
If the Packers can pull the trigger on a deal to send Randy Moss to the "Frozen Tundra," Favre could blow Marino's records out of the water. Green Bay will try to stack the deck, since this could be their last year with their star QB. Put on your Cheesehead, this could be a nice farewell season for Brett Favre.
