These types of recipes will always be my favorites. My momma would make this for me and my brothers and sisters and it was the best. They were the simplest type of deserts but we were always content to have eaten them. You can fix these deserts for special guests, potlucks or just for your family, but make sure you make a large quantity because who ever tries these three deserts will love them.
WASH DAY PIE
2 C of self rising flour 2 C of sugar
2 C of milk 2 QT. of fruit
4 T of melted butter
Mix dry ingredients all together. Add milk and mix thoroughly. Put melted butter into a 13 ½ bye 9 inches baking pan. Pour fruit onto batter. Do not mix. Bake at 375 degrees and for 45 minute or until in pulls away from the sides of the pan. If your flour does not come with baking powder you need to put some in it.
If you want even an easier type of desert try this special one that my momma taught me to make.
WACKY CAKE
1 ½ C of flour 1 C of cold water 1 C of sugar
1 tsp of vanilla ¼ C of cocoa
1 T of vinegar 1 tsp of salt 1 tsp of baking soda
