How to create articles that are easy to read

Internet readers want articles that are interesting, with useful information and easy to read. For a lot of writers, writing articles that are easy to read is not easy to do.  Sometimes it can take hours or even days to finish the research and complete a first draft. Therefore, to make writing easier experience writers use a simple four step process to create articles. Don’t expect to write perfectly easy to read articles overnight.  But with practice you will eventually be able to  create articles that are easy to read.

Step One: Know Your Subject

It is extremely important for you to have some knowledge of the subjects  you write about. Readers expect accuracy information in addition to easy to read articles. For that reason, even if you are writing an article from personal experience do some research.  The more you know about a topic the easier it will be to write about it. Getting to know a subject well will reflect in the way you present the information to your readers. The article will get read not only for the valuable information but also for the simplicity of the presentation.

Step Two: Develop an Outline

Develop an outline before you begin writing an article. It will help you organize the structure of the article. A basic outline should always include an introduction, several sections for the body of the article and a closing paragraph. Use the outline to determine what information will be presented and in what order.  Write brief descriptions or bullets to identify the different sections of the article.  Any thoughts about the subject and research notes could also be included. Writing an article based on an outline is a lot easier than from a blank screen or piece of page.

Step Three: Write Easy to Read Paragraphs

The key to easy to read articles are the sentences in each paragraph. Each paragraph should focus on one specific piece of information or point of view. Try to limit each paragraph to no more than seven sentences. This will force you to stay focused on the subject matter.  Some sentences can be short. Other ones can be middle or long in length.  All of the sentences should be written in an uncomplicated matter. You want the sentences to flow together to clearly express what you are saying in an easy to read format .

Step Four: The Importance of Grammar and Spelling

Easy to read articles must be free of grammar and spelling errors.  Readers don’t want to have to figure out what you are saying when they encounter a grammar or spelling error.  This is something a writer never wants to happen. Get in the habit of using the grammar and spell check functions. Don’t totally rely on these tools to find every mistake. Take the time to read your article out loud several times. This will uncover any sentences or words that just seem out of place or misspelled.

You can earn money writing articles. To get your share you have to know how to create articles that are easy to read. It is not a hard technique to learn. All you have to do is some research, create  an outline, write well formatted sentences and proofread your own work.  If you are able to incorporate these four steps into your writing process you will be writing the type of articles people will want to read.
