I severed my life from childhood
from home, school and family ties
no money for clothes, or proper food
no love to prosper during growth
a child neglected totally.
I threw out a line for help
and got nothing
I opened my eyes
to see a friendly face
but was blinded
by neglect and selfishness.
I reached out my hand
for a loving touch
but only felt the pain
of desertion.
I only asked
to be loved
and cared for.
My parents were
mean and mendacious
and I can't repair my childhood
but I can use
the right tools
toward healing and forgiving.
