My love
Someday, when you're old and gray,
you will look back upon that day.
The day I told you how I feel,
and how you said it couldn't be real.
"You can't love me, this I know,
the affection you give me is just for show.
You're simply too young to think of such things;
of true love, and the happiness it brings."
Those words cut deep, right to my heart,
it felt like my world was falling apart.
I couldn't believe that you failed to see
just how much you meant to me.
I collected myself, and held back my tears,
I was full of doubt, full of new fears.
How could I prove that my love was true?
And then all of a sudden, I knew what to do.
I came up close, and looked you in the eye,
then I told you that I would not lie,
and with a newfound courage I spoke,
eager to finish 'fore my resolve broke.
"I do not know what the future has in store,
nor do I know what lays beyond every door.
An impossible prize? An intangible lure?
I only know one thing for sure."
"I will love you, from now 'til forever,
no matter what hardship, challenge, or endeavor.
Through it all I will see you through,
when someone's there to help, you'll already know who."
`
While that did persuade you a bit,
you shrugged it off, and proceeded to sit,
you put my words away, for another time,
A time without thinking, reason, or rhyme.
And on the day you remember that talk,
you will decide to go for a walk.
You'll think back to the promise that was made,
and of the love that had yet to fade.
For walking with you, right to your left,
Will be me, with movements deft.
A spring in my step, a smile on my lips,
Walking beside you, hands on my hips.
Some love is fleeting, some love is fast,
And my love is just going to last.

My Love For You
I love the way you look at me,
The way it makes me feel inside.
It doesn't matter who's around -
Our love just
When I think of a love of a lifetime,
I think of you and me,
I think about our sad times,
Our struggles,
And blessed times.
