Childhood Obesity is a problem that has received major mainstream attention in the past few years. One of the reasons is because of the wide variety of reasons and factors that contribute towards it. One factor that can actually contribute to childhood obesity is a lack of pure water in the diet. The majority of kids these days are bought up on an unhealthy drinking routine that often consists of soda, fizzy drinks and diluted squash, all of which are full of potentially damaging ingredients that essentially do not play a positive role in a child’s development, and can therefore prove to be a deciding factor in a child becoming overweight, and subsequently leading on to childhood obesity.

Drinking water is essential for every human being but introducing your child to water from a young age can have countless results when it comes to them growing up and developing healthily away from health problems. The body is made up primarily of water content and therefore, replacing that water content with a fresh supply is essential, and that can only be done by drinking pure water. Sodas and carbonated fizzy drinks do not contribute to this factor and can actually lead to deficiencies and illnesses in later life if drank prominently.

Water however is a flawless source of hydration as it was intended to be. Water as a result can have countless benefits on a child. It can prove to help them maintain a good mood throughout the day which can increase their personal relations in school with their friends, and water can also prove to raise concentration and motivation levels which can subsequently have a deciding contributing role in seeing them do well in school on a daily basis. In recent years, schools that previously banned food and drinks in classrooms now regularly allow the drinking of water due to the positive benefits it can have on a child in regards to their performance in school.

Water is a necessary ingredient to development and because of this, it is no secret as to why it is prominently being advertised and publicized that children should switch from fizzy drinks and soda to pure water instead. Carbonated drinks and sodas should be treated as a snack, but for parents that are looking to improve the overall health of their child as well as contribute positively to their development and their progression through school, giving your kids water is certainly something that should be considered for the amount of benefits that can be traced back to it in regards to a child’s health and performance in school alike.
