The conspiracy theory is found in America more than anywhere else in the world. I think the main reason behind this is because there is so much secrecy in every aspect of American life that people are left to arrive at their own conclusions. This can be quite destructive, and sometimes make these conspirators seem unpatriotic, which I must point out is far from the truth.
I have been intrigued by conspiracies, ever since 9-11 when George Bush’s reaction to the terrorist attack struck me as being very strange. Firstly instead of attacking the Al-Qaeda, who were meant to be responsible for the attacks, he sat back for 2 weeks, before making a half-hearted attack in Afghanistan. Then suddenly, he stated that Iraq was the threat, although they had never been linked with 9-11, and fabricated a plot to rage war against them.
This led to so-called conspiracy theorists asking questions, and in turn were labelled as being un-patriotic. Unfortunately that seems to be the way of life in America, if you question your government you are un-patriotic. This makes it very hard for democracy to really have any hold.
America has been labelled as being a two party dictatorship, and it gets harder and harder to deny that as a country, the USA has become exactly that. People are slowly coming to the realisation that the country is actually owned by the bank, and that the President is merely a figurehead.
Also conspiracy theorists will tell you that the last time there was a real president was JFK, and what happened to him? He was assassinated and Lee Harvey Oswald was found guilty of the crime, with little evidence against him. So what happened to Lee Harvey Oswald? He too was somehow assassinated whist surrounded by police, whilst still professing his innocence.
These are just two of the many conspiracy theories that are circulating, and I am not by any stretch of the imagination saying that they are definitely true. I just want people to know that the only way of getting rid of conspiracy theorists is to be open and honest.
The more and more the US government lies and covers up matters of importance, I.E. the real reason we went to war in the Middle East, then people are continually going to ask questions. And if those questions don’t get realistic answers, people will continue to come up with their own conclusions, and be labelled conspiracy theorists.
