Poetry: Peace at last

Peace At Last

My memories begin fading in and out

Insanity again claims me with an angry shout

Death and despair begin teasing my soul

Casting my mind into a deep, dark hole

The light fades out and darkness sets in

All hope is lost I can no longer win

The urge takes over without even a care

No one even knew they were unaware

The demons begin laughing all through my head

“If you move he’ll find you!” at once they all said

So paralyzed with fear I stand my ground

No cursing, no breathing never uttering a sound

Death surrounds me with its evil shroud

In my mind I scream, never out loud

This time it will take me this I can say

I will surrender this time it's my final day

I have loved very few, yet lost so much

Losing you was the worst, now missing your touch

I take one final gulp and swallow it fast

Soon it will be over, ah peace at last.
